Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into small meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened. Add crushed tomatoes, sugar, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Place the meatballs in an ovenproof dish, top each with a slice of mozzarella, and bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
